In 1973 the first Hilleberg tent was sold: the Keb - a two-person ridge tent. From what they know this was the first tent made that offered simultaneous pitching of the inner and outer tent. This was 35 years ago and modern development in tents made this type soon obsolete and it was replaced by tunnel and dome designs. Their personal interest in wilderness camping equipment developed hand in hand with their professional life, resulting in uncountable backpacking trips and a focus on quality and function in tent design. Although it has never been their intention to become the biggest tentmaker in the market-place, it is to be the best. Their many satisfied customers decide whether or not they have been successful.
