Digital Frog Dissection CD at Totally Free Stuff

This is a scam. The cd never comes. But you will get an email from the Frog Disection company about buying the newer version for $30. It is a marketing ploy that gathers names of possibly interested buyers by offering free cds and then never send the cds, only an ad. They blame it all on PCRM a charity, for not sending out cds but PCRM never takes down the site offering cds. If they really were not sending any more cds they would take down the site. But the site is still there. So they just keep gathering names for the Frog Disection cd people.

We understand that you requested a free copy of The Digital Frog 2 from PCRM (Physician�s Committee for Responsible Medicine) but did not receive it. It also seems that many of you believe that Digital Frog International has somehow let you down. We�d like to clarify the situation.

Digital Frog International, Inc. publishes The Digital Frog software, which needs QuickTime to run. In 2006 Apple withdrew QuickTime 6 from the market, forcing us to upgrade to the latest version of QuickTime and the latest operating systems. At that time we entered into a licensing agreement with PCRM, allowing them to distribute The Digital Frog 2 (without QuickTime or workbook materials) in support of their anti-dissection campaign.

PCRM is a registered charity with a limited budget and did not anticipate the overwhelming demand for this free resource. They have been unable to satisfy all the requests. In an attempt to mitigate the disappointment, we agreed to make a Home version of The Digital Frog 2.5 available at our upgrade pricing ($29.95, which is 35% of list price).

Digital Frog International is NOT a registered charity and did not offer to give away free copies of The Digital Frog 2. We did, however, agree to allow PCRM contacts to download the workbook materials for free.

We have traditionally targeted only the K-12 school market, but now recognize that thousands of homeschoolers are interested in our award-winning , easy-to-use software. We are therefore looking at ways to make our technology-enabled learning tools available to homeschoolers at a lower price.
