Like Twice all began in the spring of 2011. Noah and Calvin, their co-founders, had met while working at Google, and they'd recently quit to strike out on their own. After spending a few months tinkering, the idea for Twice dawned on them - how could there be no website to buy high-quality, affordable secondhand clothes online?
Though neither had a background in fashion or retail, they immediately saw the need. Both had grown up in families where money was tight, and secondhand clothing was what they could afford. Calvin didn't even get his first new piece of clothing until sixth grade - a pair of zip-off cargo pants. (His fashion sense hasn't improved.)
The two started off slowly, and decided to just focus on women's clothing initially to simplify things. (Don't worry, men's and children's are coming soon). Erica and Miguel soon joined the team to provide some much-needed aesthetic oversight, and they've since grown to over 20 people today.
