The Alliance of AIDS Services - Carolina (the Alliance) dates back to 1989, when the AIDS Service Agency of North Carolina, Inc., AIDS Service Agency of Orange Co, Inc., and the Triangle AIDS Interfaith Network, Inc. consolidated efforts in serving and supporting people living with HIV/AIDS. After many years of increasingly formal partnering, they legally merged in 1999. They have been a registered 501(c)3 (non-profit) organization since then, and now have 38 full- and part-time staff, with nearly 800 volunteers engaged in delivering their services to their community-people living with HIV/AIDS in Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake Counties, and their families and caregivers.
Their mission is to serve people living with HIV/AIDS, their loved ones, caregivers and communities at large, through compassionate and non-judgmental care, prevention, education and advocacy.
