There may be lots of jokes about how women are bad drivers, but insurance companies don't seem to think so. Even though a recent poll shows that 36% of respondents said that men were better drivers and 26% thought that women were better drivers, female drivers continue to receive lower auto insurance rates.
Driving experts have proven that there is actually no difference in driving skill based solely on gender. The popular opinion is simply that women are more willing to take instruction, and are less likely to exhibit risky behavior. One insurance company also determined that men were 3.4 times more likely than women to be cited for aggressive driving, and 70 per cent more likely to be involved a serious crash.
Take a quiz to see if women really are better drivers, and you could win a year of free car insurance.
