LAGWAR was founded in the Spring of 2008 by a group of gamers from Tactical Gamer, Team Warfare League (TWL League), and the World Series of Video Games. Earlier iterations of the site were launched in 2007 under a different name. The site was originally built around the idea of hosting a Guild and Clan Spotlight in order to give online gamers recognition for their in-game achievements. The site was eventually taken over by its current management lineup in Fall of 2008.
That Fall the group obtained a large interest in the what at the time was, soon-to-be-released Warhammer Online MMORPG and discussed the title in detail on an episode of the LAGWAR.com podcast. Shortly after, Brilen and Ziss began hosting their own weekly WAR podcast called, Stonetroll Certified, taken from the name of the LAGWAR.com episode where they had previously discussed the MMORPG.
LAGWAR has since expanded tremendously, releasing additional weekly podcasts like the Fraggin' Podcast, a weekly Computer Technology show focusing mainly on PC gaming hardware/software and MMO Weakly, a show hosted by Sarc from LAGWAR and his partner in gaming Raim, covering the MMORPG industry.
Besides the ever expanding collection of podcasts, LAGWAR has also grown an extensive publishing and creative writing team. Here you can find articles containing reviews, guides, industry news, and commentaries all revolving around the world of PC gaming and PC gaming hardware. As of late, this has been one of the main areas of focus for the content management team. The site also secured funding to boost its editorials and publishing along with public gaming servers, tournaments, etc. The editorial side of LAGWAR will continue to expand, offering informative guides, reviews, and commentaries that any player seeking information will find useful on the topics covered.
