Did you know that the first indoor bowling lanes were built in New York City in the year 1840. In the rules of bowling, there is no minimum weight for a bowling ball, however, the maximum number of holes allowed in a bowling ball is 12. Bowling balls were actually made out of wood until the early 1900s. Bowling is the number one participation sport in America. It's a great activity for children. The youngest person to bowl a 300 game was Chaz Dennis at the age of 10.

Select bowling centers and schools around the country are participating in the Kids Bowl Free program. This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer.

Children whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long, courtesy of the participating bowling centers along with the schools and organizations. Over 14.1 million children have previously participated. This offer is valued at over $500 per child!
